Terms of sale

Last updated 14 October 2026. These terms apply when you buy a domain name from Yolk Ltd through the "Buy now" checkout. Our general Terms of Use also apply; if the two conflict, these terms of sale take precedence for the purchase.

1. Who you are buying from

The seller is Yolk Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17309790), The Old Bakery, 90 Camden Road, Tunbridge Wells, Kent, TN1 2QP. "We", "us" and "Yolk" mean Yolk Ltd.

2. What you are buying

You are buying the registration of the domain name shown on the checkout page, and our help transferring it to you. The domain name is transferred to you as the new registrant and, if you wish, to a registrar of your choice. Nothing else is included: no website, email service, hosting or trade mark rights are sold with the name.

Domain names are registered under the rules of the relevant registry (for .co.uk and .uk names, Nominet UK). Once transferred, your continued ownership depends on renewing the registration with your registrar and complying with the registry's terms.

3. Price and payment

The price is shown in pounds sterling on the checkout page before you pay. Payment is taken in full, as a one-off payment, through GoCardless Pay by Bank from a UK bank account. We do not see or store your bank details; the payment is authorised by you in your own banking app.

A contract is formed when your payment is confirmed to us by GoCardless. We will send a receipt and invoice to the email address you give. If a payment is not confirmed, no contract is formed and nothing is owed.

If a price is shown in error we may cancel the order before transfer and refund any payment in full.

4. Transfer

Within one working day of payment being confirmed we will contact you by email to arrange the transfer. For .co.uk and .uk names this is usually done either by changing the registrant and moving the name to your registrar's IPS tag, or by moving the name into an account in your name at our registrar. Most transfers complete within a few working days; we will keep you informed and the name stays reserved for you throughout.

You must give us accurate contact details and the information the registry or your registrar needs to complete the transfer, and respond to our emails. If we cannot complete the transfer within 30 days because we have not heard from you, we will keep trying to reach you but the name remains reserved for you.

5. Refunds

All sales are final. The only exception is if Yolk Ltd is unable to transfer the domain name to you for a reason within our control, for example because we do not hold the registration or the registry refuses the transfer at our end; in that case we refund your payment in full. A transfer that has not completed because you have not provided the details we asked for, have not used the authorisation code we issued, or have changed your mind is not a failure to transfer: the domain name remains reserved for you and no refund is due. These terms do not affect any rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded.

6. Your responsibilities

You confirm that you are at least 18, that the details you give are accurate, and that you are not buying the name to infringe anyone else's rights or for any unlawful purpose. Checking that a name is suitable for your intended use, including any trade mark considerations, is your responsibility.

7. Our liability

We own the domain name and have the right to sell it. Beyond that we make no promises about its suitability, value or search engine history. Our total liability to you in connection with a purchase is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

8. Privacy

We use the details you give to complete the purchase, issue your invoice, transfer the domain name and meet our legal obligations. GoCardless processes your payment under its own terms and privacy notice. We do not sell or share your details for marketing.

9. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction.
