The applicable contracting entity will be identified before any contract is formed and will be stated in the relevant quotation, order confirmation, invoice or other customer documentation.

1. Terms and Conditions

General Service Terms

These Domain Registration Terms govern our provision of domain registration, transfer, renewal, backorder, acquisition and related services. We will conduct our business in accordance with applicable legislation, regulatory requirements and industry best practice.

We will carry out our business responsibilities with due care and diligence in accordance with our customers’ requirements whilst exercising our professional judgement at all times. We will seek to avoid any situation that may give rise to a conflict of interest between us and our customer. We won’t disclose or authorise to be disclosed, or use for gain or to benefit a third party, confidential information except with the permission of the owner of that information, or as required by Legislation. We will not misrepresent or withhold information on the performance of products, systems or services (unless lawfully bound by a duty of confidentiality not to disclose such information), or take advantage of the lack of relevant knowledge or inexperience of others. We ensure that our customers are given the best possible advice regardless of whether that advice is to our disadvantage.

We cannot be held responsible for anything resulting from the use of our products and services or their unavailability.

Customers must comply with all applicable laws and regulations when using our services. Any customer found to be breaking any law or regulation in relation to their use of our services will have their accounts terminated. In this situation no refund will be provided.

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend our relationship and service offering if we believe the service is not being used in good faith or being used in a way that negatively impacts other customers.

Domain Registrations

Before registering, transferring or renewing a .uk domain name, customers will be provided with, or directed to, the following information:

By placing an order or requesting a renewal, you confirm that you have read and accepted these Domain Registration Terms and Nominet’s Terms and Conditions of Domain Name Registration.

All registrant data provided for the purposes of domain registrations will be validated to ensure its accuracy. In the case of personal registrations this will be validated against billing details provided for payment of up-front invoices (verified credit card address/etc). For businesses we will validate against Companies House records. Where we are unable to verify registrant information, we may request additional evidence to confirm the accuracy of the details before completing the registration or maintaining the registration.

Any address information supplied that cannot be verified will result in delays to the registration of domains. Periodic checks will be made to ensure contact details remain correct.

Your domain registrations could be at risk of suspension and/or termination if your details change and you fail to notify us.

Charges

Registration, renewal, transfer and other domain-related charges will be confirmed before an order is placed or a service is provided.

Current pricing is available on request or will be confirmed before any contract is formed.

Unless otherwise agreed:

  • registration fees are payable in advance;
  • renewal fees are payable before renewal;
  • transfers of domain names to another registrar are provided free of charge;
  • additional services, including backorders and domain acquisition services, are charged in accordance with the quotation or order confirmation provided.

Domain Expiry and Renewals

We will send renewal reminders by email before your domain name expires in accordance with Nominet’s Registrar requirements.

If you choose not to renew your domain name, or fail to pay the applicable renewal fees, your domain registration may expire and the services associated with that domain may be suspended.

Subject to Nominet’s registry policies, you may still be able to renew an expired domain name for a limited period following its expiry. Once a domain reaches the final stage of the expiry process, it can no longer be renewed and may become available for registration by another party.

Further information about the .uk domain lifecycle is available from Nominet. View the .uk Domain Lifecycle.

Transfers

Customers may transfer domain names into or away from our registrar services in accordance with the applicable registry procedures.

We do not charge customers for transferring a domain name to another registrar.

We will cooperate with reasonable transfer requests, provided any outstanding contractual obligations have been fulfilled.

2. Customer Service Level commitments

We will acknowledge receipt of all customer communications, requests or complaints within one working day and we will complete the majority of routine requests within three working days of the initial contact.

For domain name renewals and expiries, we will issue an expiry notice to you, by email, no more than 28 days prior and no less than 7 days prior to the expiry date of the domain. We will allow you to renew a domain name and maintain the registration in your own name if you request the renewal at any point up to one day before the point at which Nominet would cancel and delete the domain name, provided that such renewal does not breach any of our terms and conditions or of the Nominet Terms and Conditions of Domain Name Registration. You will be required to complete our data verification form and agree to the current terms and conditions at the time you request your renewal.

3. Complaints and appeal procedures

If you are dissatisfied with our service, complaints may be submitted via our contact page or by email to [email protected]. Your complaint will be treated seriously and with our utmost attention until it is resolved.

If your complaint is regarding .UK domain registrations, renewals or expiry and is not resolved to your satisfaction you may escalate the complaint to Nominet or you can request a free domain transfer to a registrar of your choice.

For every complaint received, we will acknowledge it by email within 3 working days of the receipt, but usually much quicker (within 24 hours).

4. Abuse contact

If you become aware of phishing, malware, fraud, spam or any other abuse involving a domain name or service managed by us, please report it to [email protected].

We monitor this mailbox at reasonable intervals and investigate all abuse reports promptly. Please include the affected domain name together with as much supporting information as possible to assist our investigation.
